Yes, fish do drink water, and surprisingly, salt water fish drink the most water because the salt in the water dries out their skin.

This is the reason why it is suggested that, if you are shipwrecked and floating on a raft, you can get water by eating raw fish that you catch. The fish drink the salt water and it is filtered in their bodies into fresh water.

well fishh breathe through gills and the water they filter through theyre gills supplies theyre body the its nnutrients so we drink water and it supplies us but a fish breathes it in and it does the same so i hoped i answered your question! and it does mean they get "thirsty"
