Me, personally I think this is a lost cause. Iraqi insurgents and the whole middle easts' insurgents will kill innocent children, some no older than 3 years old I've read a story on an incident involving a 3 year old little girl getting shot dead. What makes our country think that we can change anything when the mindset of these people are cold and ruthless from the beginning. They're not going to surrender and they'll continue fighting as long as were here and it doesn't matter what leader or their position to Al-Qaeida or Taliban. These are people of the devil. Not the Iraqi and Middle East innocents, but insurgents I'm reffering to. If we stay this war is NEVER going to end. I can see the death toll up to 5,000 to 7,000 if he stay over in Iraq for the next few years. America has pride, this country was built on American pride right? However, Jesus Christ one who is greater than even America said pride is a sin (ego) and will cause only hardship to oneself. Answer back to this topic.

I thinks its time for it all to be over. It's time to concentrate more on the problems of our own country and stop worrying so much over what is going on elsewhere.

Unfortunately, we started the war and now we're responsible for the clean-up. And I don't think we're fighting because of our pride. If we pull out now, Iraq may find itself in a all out civil war that will destabilize region, and thus oil supply, and millions of lives. We may disagree with the President on the cause of the war, but it's too late to run now.
Yes, the death toll will rise. And it breaks my heart to see the picture of the fallen soldiers and the grieving families left behind. But building a new democratic nation has always been a costly business. And it is a good reminder for us to be thankful for the freedom that we enjoy at home.
We ought to hope and prey that the new government in Iraq will take over the security of its land soon, and thus allow our troops to come back home.

And let's not dwell on a ridiculous idea like dropping a bomb and leaving, or Iraq vs US, or Middle East vs. US. We can't make friends with such nationalistic attitude. It's making our job over there more difficult and cost more lives. We have to be kind and considerate like as if they're our next door neighbors. God bless America and Gold bless the World!

Continue to fight! As the most powerful nation this world has ever seen, we have the obligation to protect democracy and provide support around the world. There are two things that would improve U.S. image all around the world: The capture of Osama Bin Laden and a victory in Iraq. The day we capture Osama, it will be all over the news for months and I will be so happy. And the day we leave Iraq will happen when: Iraqis are able to provide their own security and they have a stable government that is friendly to the U.S. That will be a special day indeed because our troops would get to come home.

we can't let it be a lost cause. We have to fight this war for the iraqi people, they are the ones who want America there. If you dont' believe me-- look at how they elected a PRO-US candidate. They want freedom and we must assist them.

the insurgents may not surrender-- but the nazis didn't for either. In the end they were defeated and ran.

The insurgents must be defeated.

One problem, do you have to blame and look down on the Iraq's for America's need to invade the wrong country on the wrong Continent, with the wrong equipment, for the wrong purpose and finally for the worst possible reasons.
The Original Peace Corp was a much better idea for spreading democracy and making friends in the world.
I am liberal, and I like the Jesus in the New Testament. Jesus said,"Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do."

No, we should never have been there in the first place. Now a whole lot of other countries are pissed at us. War is not pretty. When our world trade center was bombed we felt what it is like to have war on our soil. People in other lands mourn their losses as we mourn ours. They are not different in that respect. They feel the same agony when their children die, when their buildings and homes are destroyed, when they have no water or electricity or food. I don't want a good part of the rest of the world pissed at us.

I prefer we try to avoid war if possible. this war was avoidable so I wish we would stop now and come home. we can always go back if we feel it is a mistake. just pull out (redeploy) our troops to a safe spot nearby and watch what happens for awhile and then congress can vote on what to do next. We can always re-invade. we seem to be better at invasions than occupations.
Maybe we can save some of our blood and treasure for a more urgent or worthy conflict. Like NORTH KOREA Iraq anit hurting us and nver did hurt us. why waste our resources trying to civilize them? them fight it out with each other

What are they fighting for again? It's definitely not for our freedom.

The military is being too easy on these insurgents. Collateral damage is unacceptable in 2006. What they need to do is drop the bomb and send the rest of the world a message saying don't f*** with us. That way we can horde more oil for ourselves.

Yes we need to finish. All wars dont end just like that, as you can tell from all previous wars. We must declare victory before we leave and we have not. And may not for over 100 years. but until the generation of USA haters die out over there we must stay to make sure they dont want to injur us again and again. I dont know why they dont like Americans. This time, its not only Blacks they dont like, its all Americans. So until things start going our way, we are not leaving any time soon and I hope not.

No, i think we should stop the fighting. the man that was in the news, menchaca and that other dude were killed this weekend over there. its all over the news. they havent confirmed it was them but they suspect it was them. they are from the rio grande valley (in brownsville) and well, it just hurts that a valley native like i am and a 23 year old would be "brutally tortured." then they state that they will continue to do it because of that guy that we had bombed like last week. i think alot of innocent soldiers will be killed brutally if we stay over there.

Mike Rules has a good idea but the only trouble with that is women and children i say they now have a gov. so let them deal with the rest by their selves. We already taught hem what to do so pull our troops out bring them home before we lose any more men or women that have families here waiting on them.
