Let him go. I am a former military guy myself, and being sent to Iraq is no excuse to act like that. You deserve better!! :)

Never forgive an abuser. They ALL say sorry and do it again. Take his trip to Iraq as a wonderful way to drop him out of your life for good. For now.....find other things to do and NEVER contact him. Hopefully he'll get the message and find someone else to bother.

this is wrong no matter what the circumstances...leaving for iraq is just a poor excuse! i would break off contact with him til he gets some kind of therapy!
