Their are some people that need to hit their bottom, before they
can see the true light. You did the right thing trying to help your friend.
Now the rest is up to him.
Be at peace with yourself, just be there if he calls out
to you. Sincerely, Jerry

Well, hopefully he won't and the counselors from AA will help him to realize that he is killing himself and may one day kill someone else. Drinking is a huge problem in people 21-25 and he needs all the support he needs and all you can do is be a good listener, friend and supporter of him getting himself together. When you see a drink in his hand just point out that it may not be a good idea to drink if he has poor health.

Alcoholism is a disease and it does,in most cases, kill. Weather it in a car accident or drinking until they have sirosis of the liver. When I was younger , my mom was friends with an alcoholic lady in our neighborhood. Her family tried everything that they could do, rehab, intervention after intervention ,extra counseling, etc.. but it never worked. Sometimes , no matter what you do to try to help..it wont work... the person you are trying to help has to want to be helped first... In my mom's friends case ..She did finally want help but it was too late.. She had developed sirosis of the liver and she died at only age 38.
I wish you luck with your friend and I hope that he will want to receive the help and friendship that you are extending to him.

How does your friend still have a drivers license, most people that have been involved in that many accidents have been locked up, and I wander about his car insurance, this guy is an accident waiting to happen to himself, he will probably injure or kill an innocent person, and then he will be locked up, he needs professional help, and anything that you will say to him won't matter to him one way or another.

Well hopefully AA will work. Instead of doing it all yourself contact some folks who are experienced with helping such people.
Drinking though isn't the problem there is some underlying problem that causes him to drink. Help that problem and you can convince him to quit drinking.

You are right, he is killing himself and you have to do something.
Find out why? What drives him to do it?
Go to Ala-non meetings and ask for help.
You have to call him on his behaviour, no matter how mad he gets at you. It's not treally you he's mad at, but it probly hurts too much to come to grips with.
Hang in there! You're my hero!
