If you are having a pelvic exam then no you should not have sex 24 hours prior to your appt. You want all the tests they do to be accurate and having sex can change the result of tests because of sperm, and the spermicides from contraceptions that enter your body during sex.

I wouldn't. The device they use to perform pap smears can be uncomfortable if you've had sex in the few days prior to the exam.

If you have sex before it you could get a bad test result and it could cause you to be right back in there. You should until after.

It can hinder the results of your pap test. And you may be called back in for another and who wants to do go through that more than once a year.... That is bad enough.......
