Of course, you can use depilatories, meaning cream based hair removers which soften the hair from the root and hence fall off in a jiffy...handy when you are on the move, shaving is tooooo much of a headache anyway.
I recommend IMMAC or VEET .You can of course use other brands ,just go to a pharmacy and ask for a CREAM DEPILATORY, the pharmacist will hand it over.
Next be careful with the instructions, never leave them on for more than 6-8 minutes, there are special ones available for sensitive skin, however test them on a sensitive skin patch prior to application. You also get perfumed ones in rose, chamomile etc, do your homework and decide the best for you!!

I have the same problem. I found out also that I was allergic to any hair removal cream. What I ended up doing is buying one of those hair trimmer wands, at CVS Pharmacy for $9.99 and I use that to shave under the arms. I haven't had any redness or bumps or any irritation since I have been using it. Also the only deoderant I can use is skin so soft from Avon. 99 cents.

hydrocortizone cream (like cortaid) at your local drug store. rub on after shower (a little goes a long way). no more rash. also, try a deodorant for sensitive skin (I think Dove makes one). Maybe go without the anti-perspirant variety- and just use deodorant and baby powder. Anti-perspirant has a chemical that closes your pores which can cause some rash type symptoms.
hope this helps! good luck :D

Make sure that you are using a good shaving gel and that your razor is very sharp. Don't use older razors as they get more dull as time goes on. They do also have aftershave lotions to keep the razorburn down.
