Trying to be popular is just lame. Just be yourself and you'll have friends. Being popular is not important at all.

Being popular is to be likable, with good personality & someone who doesn't intimidate the rest of us, lesser mortals =)
Someone who's confident, genuine & just themselves.
Have a good rapport with others but never ever come across as arrogant - not a good way to win anyone's vote.

Being yourself doesn't make you popular, whoever said this is wrong. I am always myself, but i'm a quiet guy and i'm not OUTthere, so i'm not popular.
You get popular by being OUTGOING and speaking. OR you can just be yourself BUT YOU NEED to have talent..like awesome composing, or awesome guitar playing etc.

dont try to be popular! dont be a poser, people can see right through that, just bring out your own personality. then everyone will think youre cool and popular.

if you be popular everyone will hate you. "experience". i'm a funny girl, so people considered me popular because i had all these friends how like my funniness. i hated the fact that i was being popular so i avoided when popular kids came near me. i didn't want to be popular, it's just people considered me to be. then i was popularly known not popular and i liked that, so more people knew who i was. i just hung out with all my buddies and i went to middle school and people didn't consider me popular, then i got in 7th grade and i was fashionable, funny, and cool, but still not popular because i avoided popular people. they liked me but i never wanted to join them because i knew how much of a jerk they are. so i was myself and i got my own assortment of boys and girls to be my friends. and i have a lot, but i'm not popular. but i'm in 8th grade now and i'm happy. i'm a 4.0 and i'm likable, in advanced algebra and i don't have geeky friends, i'm just me. i was to smart to fit in with the popular people anyway.

dress like the cool ppl at ur school , example : im popular , i dress prep and dont act stupid , u have to act like a prep or the clothes will just be there and thats all theyll see

popular to who? in school? hang out with the loser jocks and cheerleaders and blend in to their crowds. or you could just be yourself and if it makes you popular, more power to you, if not, you were never meant to be
