Where do the business' in D.C. pay taxes? Why not make it a state, so we can tax our politicians that are taxing us?

Because that is where the politicians just stay from different states. I'm sure they pay taxes in their home states.

I think the purpose of its separate status is to keep it impartial. I am not sure where the taxes go, apart from to the Internal Revenue department, or whether they are required to pay regional taxes on top of the federal ones.

There are taxes here, on our license plates it says "taxation without representation" don't know if making it a state would do anything, personally I don't understand why anyone would choose to live here.

You'd also have to tax the poor blacks that live there. Then their mayor would have no one to pay for his crack habit. .

Because it is the seat of the federal government, and is directly represented by the federal government. They are ALL your representatives, and you have my sympathy on that.
