Much of the world's creatures have a purpose. What is the purpose of a cricket? (other than fishing bait)

Crickets are good for your garden. They burrow and this allows water and air into the soil. You're plants are happy and so are the crickets. Listen to them after dark and after you have watered your garden. They will sing you to sleep.

There's a couple of things I would use crickets for:
First: If I had a lizard or a tarantula for a pet, I would use a cricket or two to feed them...
Second: The sound of a million crickets chirping in the evening could be a nice background sound for when you're having a wonderful grilled dinner in your backyard. Of course with the chirping of the crickets comes the biting of the mosquitoes.

By listening to a crickets chirps you can tell the weather. In some parts of the world they are dippen in chocolate and eaten!

About the only thing I know a cricket is good for is my scorpions dinner. They love them....
