where is white face mountain ?

it's in New York. in the adirondack state park north of the capital Albany. the adirondacks are about three hours up the taconic state parkway from NYC. its a great drive, but watch out for deer. Its also across the lake champlain from Vermont. White Face IS where they had a bunch of the skiing events in the 1980 olympics at lake placid. and lake champlain IS where people still say they spot a mysterious loch ness like creature in the waters occasionally. There has been video on the news just recently and it even has a name. Champ. Some people also say they occasionally spot a tall red haired ape man in the adirondack woods. they call him Red. It's a really laid back place the adirondacks. highlights are the fishing hiking and stumbling upon a NYC chef who threw the towel in a few back and opened a little place up in some small town and serves fabulous food. There's an ice cream chain up there too called stewart's that has a make your own sundae option on their dessert menu. you can glob it on pretty tall. When there's enough snow Gore Mtn. in North Creek has some pretty good runs for the northeast. if you imagine the state of new york to look like the head of a dog, from the side, with the snout pointing towards ohio... the adirondacks are right where the black eye patch is on that dog from the little rascals about the same size too. I think its still the largest state park.

It is in New York, of course upstate. It is by Lake Placid where the Olympics were in 1980 - at least I think it was 1980.
