You can try placing a brown cardboard box in front of the area you want to distract him from - the idea is that he will play with the cardboard box instead of focussing on the gate/wall. Bunnies love playing in cardboard boxes - especially if you cut windows and doors in them - he'll probably want to 'renovate' by adding more windows/doors by chewing ;-) This will also distract him from chewing on other things! Just be careful of any staples or plastic tape on the cardboard box, because you wouldn't want him chewing on them. Very best of luck!

My bun used to do the same thing. I tried everything; chew sticks, a towel over the gate, pepper. Nothing worked. So, I bought a metal "play pen" that he runs in. It can't chew on it or climb over the top (which my bun did once w/ the wooden baby gate). I got mine from petsmart: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441780770&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302047888&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1150908794521&itemNo=21&Nao=12&In=Small+Pet&N=2047888&Ne=2 . Make sure it's over or about 3 feet tall. Otherwise, they will jump over it. They also have ones made of plastic for babies like this "http://www.kmart.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=156802&Ne=11&N=16&categoryId=16&pCategoryId=11 . My mom has that one for her rabbit. They are both nice and can easily be made into any shape and size you want!

well, first, since it has a hole, buy a new one or cover it up somehow.
also put something bad tasting on the gate.
they sell sprays at pet stores that stop dogs/cats/small animals from chewing things.
something spicy (ie, tobasco sauce, worked great on our dog) should stop the rabbit from chewing on things.

I believe Astrid. My rabbit does now not chew on wires, however she insist on grabbing the bars of her cage at 4am, and shaking the heck out of them, so earlier than i'm going to bed I put bitter apple on the bars.

My rabbit had a habit of nibbling on tv and computer cords so I would put a little hot sauce on them and he stopped.
