i am an avid collector if knives, after a certain amount of time, the blade does need resharpening, other than the stone, what other ways are there to end up with a super sharp blade? thanks guys!!

You can hone the edge with a quality stone or steel. However, for true re-sharpening, you need to take the knife to a professional.

Alton Brown (Food Network) had a great show explaining the science behind it which is too much for this column, but, trust me, it made sense, and you really won't ever regain that beautiful razor-sharp edge you had when you first got the knife without professional help.

There is a certain kind of stone which I don`t know its english name...you can find at your local supermarket...othrwise , for eccentric cases, you should be appointed to an armoury..they will understand immediately believe me...
