I have gotten divorced in NYS but i did not leave out any info... I was totally honest and up front as should be because if something comes up that you dont tell them it will come back to haunt you and your new marriage and it will bite you in the butt... Trust me it is not worth it!

I was married in Ohio 6 years ago. I can't remember for sure but I do think I had to show my divorce papers, so YES, tell the truth & you apply for the license at the time of marriage. No, there is no need to explain anything about your first marriage either, it is not their business!! You will both also need photo id & birth certificates, make sure all paperwork is either orginials or certified copies. Make sure you take a camera with you. There will be a sign that says "Marriage Licenses & Mental Health", you just gotta get a pic of you & your "wife" under that sign, everyone does. It's really quick, inexpensive & easy there. You can be married by a Minister or a Judge. If you wanna be married by the Judge, you have to go across the street to the court house or if you wanna be married by a Minister, it's done downstairs in the same building you get the license in. Do remember, the Minister performs marriages and any tips received goes into the church fund, so tipping is something to remember to do. Good luck & I hope you have a long happy life together!!!
