Spades is our favorite. We play it often with another couple and we team up guys vs girls. It's really a lot of fun because you not only have to know your partner and how they think but you also need to know about the people you are playing against. There's also a lot of trust if a partner goes nil/double nil

I also like Canasta as well - if you do it right it can be quite cut-throat

Strip Jack Naked! (for 2 players)
Divide a standard pack of 52 cards roughly in half. Each of the two players holds their half face down. The players take turns to turn over their top card and play it face up in the center of the table, thus forming a pile. There are two kinds of cards..the Ace, King, Queen and Jack are PAY CARDS and the 2-10 are ORDINARY CARDS.
Play continues alternately until a PAY CARD appears. The opponent of the person who played the PAY CARD must pay for it by playing several times in succession. The payment rates are:
>4 ordinary cards for an ACE
>3 ordinary cards for a KING
>2 ordinary cards for a QUEEN
>1 ordinary card for a JACK
When the payment is complete (e.g. Player A played a Queen and player B has played two ordinary cards on it), the person who played the PAY CARD (Player A in this case) takes the whole face up pile and puts it face down underneath their own cards. It often happens that while paying for a card, you turn over a PAY card yourself. When this happens the previous pay card is cancelled and your opponent now has to pay for your new
pay card. EXAMPLE: Player A plays a Queen; Player B plays a six and then a Jack; Player A plays an Ace; Player B plays 3,7, King; Player A plays 10, 4, 6. The King has been paid for so Player B takes the center pile.
The player who first runs out of cards loses.
There is no skill in this game (you just turn your top card when it's your turn) and the game can go on for a long time.

Wow, it really is crap. a million. The i7 2600k is an utter waste of money for gaming. It has 0 benefit over the i5 2500k. 2. "Gaming memory" is a gimmick. once you're paying a acceptable fee for it then you're doing it incorrect. Corsair is sturdy, although. Any previous 2x4GB kit will do. 3. Gaming pc with a 6670? Are you kidding me? Even the 6770 is the bottom end of what i might want to guage respectable in a gaming rig. positioned the money you'll save on the CPU into this and get something more advantageous effective, per chance a 6870 or a 6950. Themarthian, come back once you've a clue. "Graphically huge" has particularly no longer something in any thanks to do with the variety of cores that a sport can take advantage of, and maximum video games truly take advantage of two, perchance 3 cores. BF3 will supposedly make respectable use of four. In those circumstances, there is 0 benefit to an i7 over an i5. Zip. A tiny advance in cache and clock % do no longer make a lot of a large difference. look up a benchmark sometime, then provide up posting.

accordian, its very simple and only takes one person, spread all the cards out from left to right, study the cards and start playing. to play, you can move any card to the left if the card is of the same suit or the same value, also, you can move three cards over, meaning count the third card to the left. the object of the game is to get one final pile, but it does take a lot of practice because you can change the order of them. its fun if youre bored

I love phase 10 its rather cheap to buy but it is very much fun you need a min of two people and the more people you have the longer the game lasts so if your going to play you need to have some time.

2-4 players
all cards shared equally
jack = 1 card laid
queen=2 cards laid
king = 3 cards laid
ace=4 cards laid
take it in turns to put a card in a pile.
if an jack, queen, king, or ace gets put down, the next player has to lay cards on top according to above chart.
if all cards then laid on top are not pictures or an ace then the person who laid the original ace or pic then gets all cards in middle.
these get put to bottom of ur pile.
if an ace or pic comes though then the person next to them puts cards on top according to chart.
so everytime an ace or pic is laid, the next person places the next cards on top according to chart.
so if an ace is laid by player 1, player2 has to put 4 cards on top. if they are all non ace or pic cards, then the player who laid the ace gets all the cards.
if however player 2 lays an queen for example on top of the ace before laying the 4 cards, then player 3 (or back to player 1, if playing with 2 people) will then put cards on top according to chart.
game goes untill someone has all cards.
it is really fun but it prob sounds too complicated.
it is so fun when someone lays a jack and thinks they are gonna get the cards in middle then you lay a queen on top. the next person then lays 2 non ace or pic cards on top, then you get all the cards.
good luck understanding. it's soooooooo much fun though.
there is another game called cheat;
cards get shared out between however many playing.
player 1 has to put down some cards into centre but has to call out what they are putting down
can be up to 4 cards but has to be same e.g four aces.
actually though they don't have to be same as you can cheat but still call out 4 aces when really you put 4 dif cards down e.g a jack six three and two.
when you place them in middle and say what they are, the next person goes unless someone calls out cheat.
when this happens, you have to turn up the cards and show them whether you were cheating.
if you were then you have to pick up all cards in centre if not they have to.
aim is to get rid of all your cards first.
so if you have got 4 sixs, then you could get rid without cheating but if you haven't got alot of cards the same you might wanna cheat to get rid of your cards more quickly but if you say 3 sixs for example and that ain't what you are laying, someone could have two sixs and know you're cheating cos there ain't that many in deck.
a good trick;
when you do have 3 or 4 cards the same e.g kings
lay some other cards and say 3 kings ( hopefully no one will shout cheat). then on your next go lay the 3 kings and call out 3 kings again. someone might call cheat as they think you laid 3 kings last time. then they will see the kings and have to pick up all the cards in middle.
can only call cheat when cards have just been laid.
not once next player puts theirs down. so you cannot say oh actually i think you were cheating a minute ago. it has to be quick, then once someone has got away with cheating, they are in the clear.
best played with 3 players

Don't be put off by the length of my answer, "Spit" is a really fun, fast paced game for two players that everyone used to play at my school, the rules are difficult to explain but here goes!
Shufle the pack then split it in two (ie: each player gets 26 cards).
Each player should lay out 5 piles of cards in frount of them. The first pile having only one card, then two, three, four and the last pile has five, they should then turn over the top card of each pile so it can be seen. (So the smallest pile has one card, face-up and the largest has four cards face-down under one card face-up)
The remaining cards go in the middle of the table (as two seperate piles) with a gap between them for playing in.
When both players are ready the top card from each playing pile (in the middle) is turned and put next to the pile at the same time.
The players then have to put the cards in front of them on to corresponding ones in the middle. To correspond the card must be the same value or the next one to it, suit is irrelevent (eg: if an ace was reveled in the playing area the either player may put an ace, king or two of any suit on top of it.)
As each card is played from in front of the player the card bellow it (if there is one) is turned face-up and can be played.
If niether player can play a card on what is currently in the centre then both players should turn a new card from the centre piles (again: at the same time) then continue to play.
When either player runs out of cards to play then both can try to slam their hand down on the center pile they think is smallest and shout "Spit" (bit like in snap!)
The prosess is now repeated with the cards you "spat on" (or the other centre pile if you lost) and any cards you had left in frount of you, laying the cards out and playing as before.
Eventually one player will not have enough cards left to have a pile for the centre leaving an empty space which can be "spat on" when either player runs out of cards.
When a player has less cards then needed for the piles in front of them they should start with the pile of one then two and just lay as many cards as they have.
The first player to have no cards at all is the winner.
Players may, if they wish, put like with like before the centre cards are turned before each round (ie: if you have two piles in front of you that are topped with an ace you can put them together, to play at the same time, and turn card underneath face-up.
The name is because you "spit" on a centre pile ie: you baggsy it.
This probably looks complicated how I've written it but it is well worth learning. It's very, very quick during rounds as the players try to get rid of their cards and it's tons of fun!
I think this game is just from my school, I've never heard of it elsewere unless it has a different name.
