Put yourself out. Sitting at home won't do the job. 1st thing is 1st. How to make friends? u have to be in an area where ppl are, and you must communicate. So, choose a place..such as a library, or museum, or someplace that U like. Then you MUST be able to talk and communicate first. If you sit around waiting for somebody to talk to you, you cut your chances in half, but, if u talk to somebody, you are for sure going to have a conversation 100%. If all goes well, u guys talk n hit it off.girl or guy. then u say, wanna go grab something to eat? then from there, it takes off. Its trial and error. but u MUST talk first, be first, because like i said, if u dont talk, chances are, nobody will talk to u. up your chances of makin friends, by giving urself the chance to make friends.
I said for u to choose a place like, because its something that u and that new friend can relate to. if its a cd shop, pet store, library, museum etc. I hope you find friends quickly, you sound like a nice person

Figure out what you like: poetry? pottery? music? Drawing/painting? etc.. and go to a nearby community college or recreation center and enroll in a class. It's a great way to meet people that have similar interests.
