of course racism is still alive. your love must be stronger than others because you have an extra obstacle most couples don't hve to face. best of luck and keep your head up. great question :)

I think racism is still alive but I think you may have more of a chance down there for some reason than in the North. I've seen on TV, lots of mixed couples. I am surprised it's so well accepted in the South. Racism exists in the North, too. Honestly, if you've found "the One," I wouldn't let others interfere. It's a lot easier than it used to be.

Racism is still alive, but it's just as common in the North and Midwest as it is in the South. I think that people are much more accepting of mixed couples now than they were even ten years ago. As long as you love each other, what other think shouldn't matter.
And it doesn't turn most heads in Texas, I know lots of mixed couple who live in big cities and small towns and never hear a word or get dirty looks...

If you live out in the sticks, good luck. Your chances of survival in that backwards state have the best chance in a big city. I live in northeast Georgia and these rednecks up here a worse than Alabama. If you want to live in the south comfortably with your mate, move to Atlanta, Ga. There is more Northern people around there than anyone in the south.
Good Luck

Mixed couples are everywhere and excepted nowadays. I live in the south (Tennessee -memphis area) and It is seen everywhere. I have family in Alabama too and I see it there all the time too. I also have family in Arkansas , North Carolina and mississippii and see it there as well. Mixed couples are becoming common everywhere and the south isn't as bad as it used to be.There will always be racist people but you can still live peacefully in the south because not many will bother you about it.

Please do no longer supply up! approximately 3.5 years in the past I met the affection of my love - he's Latino and actually warm too. =) i'm as white as must be (i glance like a ghost, heavily). He truly likes white women extra clever than Spanish women for some motives. he's not racist, yet he thinks white women are prettier and function extra clever personalities. I ensue to think of Spanish women are very fantastically and intense-high quality, so i do no longer comprehend what he potential by making use of that. He lives in a city this is ninety seven% hispanic. This basically shows no longer all Spanish men choose their very own sort. I basically graduated from Rutgers (NJ), and maximum of couples are interrracial that no-one truly concept something approximately us being at the same time. i does not concern approximately your nationality, self belief is the main. =)

Racism isn't a virus or a trend, it's peoples personal beliefs. You will always encounter people who do not like what you do wether it be your hair, your job, or even who you date. It's up to you and only you when it come to who you fall in love with. If someone has something to say try not to take it to heart, if you do they win. By the way, I've lived up North and those can be some of the most racist people around, there's ignorant people wherever you go.

You'll find racism to a degree everywhere you go. Yes it does still exist in the south, but not to the extent it used to (thankfully). You certainly can have a happy life together. There will be challenges, but isn't that always the case?

I am sure it still turns heads in Texas a little. I here comments once in a while about a mixed couple being together from usually white people near me. It is mostly in a bad joke form. I dont think it is much an issue anymore here as far as people being upset about it. Who cares anyway, just be happy.

Racism is alive. But I think it decreases more and more with time. Yes it matters.

In my opinion there are much better reasons to dislike people than the color of their skin. I personally don't like stupid people, lazy people, and unethical people. But I am from California.

Alabama, it could be tough, but then I am just going by stereotypes (shame on me). Good luck.

There will always be racism in some form or another anywhere you go, unfortunately. In the deep south it is still prevelant in places. You have every chance to be happy. People can only affect you if you let them.
