A sleeping pad... unless you like to sleep on rocks.

For a G-rated camping trip-
Tent, sleeping bags and bedding (including pillows), rope, blankets, matches, folding/lawn chairs, dry wood (especially if it's been raining or cool), hot dogs and marshmallows, makings for s'mores (in addition to marshmallows, bring chocolate bars and graham crackers), Dutch oven(s), any supplies (like utinsels or can opener, spices) and food to cook with/in the Dutch ovens, water (in case there is no potable water available), TP, bug spray, lotion, sun block (sunburn and camping are an unhappy combo), a Coleman lantern (for late-nite games of war), flashlight (for late-nite trips to the latrine/bush), deck or 2 of cards, pocket knife (for making those roasting sticks), book to identify plants and animals, a novel (to pass time)....

Did I miss anything?

It depends on if you are backpacking or car camping. If you are car camping take everything you want. Check twice for toilet paper, matches, water, a coat and hat. You don't need much more than that.

If you are backpacking and feel tough, take steak and beer for the first night. Then hard alcohol for the next few days in a plastic bottle that is light.

I also recommend taking strippers.
