Visit the home page of the site you want her to see.
Right click on the address bar of your browser, select 'Copy' from the drop-down menu.
Return to the E-mail you have written, right click where you want the address to be, select 'Paste' from the drop-down menu.
The hyperlink will appear in underlined blue text once you press 'Return' to move to a new line in the E-mail.

You have 'copied' to the 'Clipboard' and 'pasted' from the clipboard - a 'copy & paste' operation.
The next item you copy to the clipboard overwrites and replaces whatever was there previously.
You can copy & paste 'selected' items using the 'File' menu and the toolbar shortcuts too. Right-clicking an item automatically selects it - works for images too.

Over the compose box of yahoo mail, there should be a button with a picture of a two link chain.
Just highlight the text you want to be the link en press that button, then put the URL on the new window that appeared.

even if you send it as a HTML format email, if your daughter is using a mail client that doesn't support html, she will still not be able to click on the link. Why dun you ask her to copy and paste the link into her browser instead?
