There hasn't been a real good movie about ***** League baseball. There's been documentaries, there's been one comedy, "The Bingo Long Travelling All-Stars". But I'd like to see a dramatic movie about that experience. Many people don't know that blacks were allowed in major league baseball BEFORE Jackie Robinson. But some baseball official didn't like it and banned them. Thus the ***** leagues were formed. There were interesting stories about players, teams. But I want to know what they went through, them knowing that they were as good if not better than the white counterparts in the majors but not allowed to show it. Travelling around playing two or three games a day for little money, hoping one day that maybe the color line will drop. I remember watching Ken Burns' series "Baseball" on PBS and there was one former ***** League player who went to his death bed thinking that he was going to be allowed to play.. It was an interesting segment of our history that hasn't been dealth with at all. There's been plenty great baseball movies: Pride of the Yankees, Bang the Drum Slowly, Field of Dreams, but not about this era.

I think most of it's been done hasn't it? The Civil War, with Gone with the wind. Tora, Tora, Tora, There was a series that someone gave me a long time ago called Combat about World war 2 I think. Of course you are right...there is still plenty they could come up with. Let's hope they do and come up with something worth watching.
