Because that's how their parents and friends and everyone else says it. It annoys me, too, but I don't judge. We still understand the word, after all.

The asinine question you asked reveals your own lack of knowledge, experience, and education. Get out and experience more of the world, obtain an education (particularly in grammar, spelling, and English), and then share what you have learned.
I have an idea! Become a teacher in the inner city. How's that?

I know many whites that say "aks." I don't think using that word is linked to race. I think it is linked to the way people speak in one area of the country, namely the East.

Why do people in the south say they will mash a button? We in the north sat push a button. Maybe, it is a cultural thing. Why do people in Mass. put an r on the end of words ending in a vowel? Maybe it is a regional thing.

If you had the guts to say it to our face you would know that answer. But because your a coward you will most likely get racist answers. Stop instigating and get a life. PS. also stop stereotyping. People like you are pathetic.

All cultures are different. 'Aks' is not limited to one race. I am sure there are a lot of caucasian people who say it. I think you need to get out into the world and experince some different cultures.

I've heard that in Ebonics, it IS "aks". I'm told that it comes from the Anglification of Swahili. Could be true. I'm not a linguist.

Most people in the South say Y'all. Where is your correction of their grammar? You just hate Blacks and only have the guts to express your hatred on line anonymously. Coward.

Next time when typing your question, remember to type "some" black americans. Don't lump the entire group together as if we're all alike.
