I'm sorry if this sounds sarcastic but you might try asking them. Some goths don't dress in all black and some people do dress in all black but are not goth. I usually dress in black but I am not Gothic. So the only way of defining someone as Gothic is to ask them. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Alot of Gothics suppose to ware black(not pink),they're loners and they don't have a care in the world.

If they think dark thoughts and dress in black always speaking of negativity they are way gothic.

My friends goth. The dress style of goth actually came from goth architect, which tends to have many corners, spikes, and a lot of shadows. If someone dresses with spikes/studs and wears lots of black we tend to label them as goth. Being goth has nothing to do with being depressed and cutting yourself. And my friend doesn't wear fangs or black lipstick either.

it is a way for young teens to rebel against everything in the norm.every generation has there own form of rebellion as for signs, they wear most wear black all the time and look like Edward scissor hands ha ha!
