London, like New York, can be overwhelming, but if you take time to understand the subway sytem (tube) you can go just about anywhere cheaply. The Soho area is similar to Grenwich in NYC and has a variety of clubs and bars. Also the West End of London is like the theater district, and has a lot of things to see and buy. Get a local newspaper when you arrive to find the clubs near you. The Brits love to hang out and party, but be careful that you don;t get rolled and don;t leave your money on the bar!

There are a couple of "touristy" things I think you should check out, because it will encourage you find "non-touristy" activities. Try to book a flight on the London Eye, it is a gigantic ferris wheel like contraption that is so big you can see almost the entire city. Try Essex for a good hangout, lots of bars and nightclubs, maybe try Romford in Essex, There are many good clubs and you will be out of the city.

There's this great book called the Hedonist’s Guide to London.
If you don't want to buy it, read the article at the link below.

Some of the article highlights:

DRINK

The Snooty Fox, Islington (75 Grosvenor Avenue), is off Hg2’s central London path, but it’s a bona fide London boozer with an original vinyl jukebox and the odd lock-in — if you’re lucky.

Lab Bar (12 Old Compton Street) doesn’t appear in the guide, probably because it fell off the coolometer a while ago. But London’s top bartenders still rate it number one, thanks to mixologists “who are more like scientists than servers”.

PARTY

The Pigalle (215 Piccadilly; 0845 345 6053, www.thepigalleclub.com) rightly makes it into Hg2 as the king of cabarets. Jools Holland, Bryan Ferry and Van Morrison have performed there. Ticket prices vary; a two-course dinner menu starts at £29 per head.

Lucky Voice (52 Poland Street; 020 7439 3660). So uncool it’s cool — the most popular song is Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. It does appear in Hg2.

EAT

Coffee, Cake & Kink (61 Endell Street; 020 7419 2996) for classy sex toys and fabulous coffee.

Depends on the kind of music you like really - there's the Astoria (opposite Tottenham Court Road tube station), there's the Mean Fiddler, the Electric Ballroom, The Aversham Arms, and far too many live venues to list.

There's also Brown's and Ministry if you want dance music.

And the list could go on forever, try checking out knowhere.com for London and seeing what people like and don't like about each of them.

A word for the wise - London can be a dangerous place off the tourist track - be very careful about which venue you choose in the end.

I've been to London several times and lived in the UK for a while. The best thing to do is ask the locals. They will tell you the best "Chip Shops" best clubs etc... the guides on-line are sometimes biased because they get a commission for putting that ad there. It may take a little longer to find a place, but it will be more worth it.

there is a lot decision in London that it truly is tough to assert the place's maximum suitable to flow because it truly relies upon on your budgets, what variety of track you into and what sort of persons you opt to blend with. I as a result propose you word the timeout magizine which has weekly listings and comments of each and every thing happening in London.
