What do you think of cheerleaders?

im a cheerleader and people think that im some kind of bimbo when actually i am very smart.

Well when I was in school........everyone hated them. There really can be too much school spirit ya know (they ALL reminded me of the cheerleader in Greese!)

As far as them being Dumb.....I really don't think they are. Shallow maybe......ego driven.......trend following......catty backstabbing brats.......but not dumb.

But ya know........After highschool noone will care if you were a cheerleader. You cannot major in spirt stick tossing in college.......and I doubt pom pom flipping will come in handy in the real world.

But hey....what can I say..I was always under the tree with the stoners in high school......

Ignore the stupidity of morons sweetheart, and most Cheerleaders are awesome:) If not for well trained Cheerleaders most sports teams would have a hard time defeating the opposing teams, and especially Cheerleaders provide excellent entertainment to the fans. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I for one enjoy watching sexy young girls performing their routines while dressed in their sexy Cheerleader outfits;)

I think the whole issue the NFL has against cheerleading is stupid. If teams and their players are being distracted by the cheerleaders, then I feel it's the coaching staff's fault for not disciplining the players better. At the same time those players need to re-evaluate what's important, if cheerleaders are distracting them.

I think cheerleaders are too full of themselves but some of my friends are cheerleaders so they are ok. Most cheerleaders in my school are really smart.

When I was in high school (not quite in the stone age), I knew that there were grade requirements for all the athletes. I still didn't like a lot of them. Many were rude, arrogant, richer than me, (I thought-)over-privelaged, etc.

I think that often, people's attitudes toward the privelaged is more fueled by jealousy than anything else.

Currently, my feelings toward cheerleaders is more mixed-
If he/she is keeping her GPA up and is taking reasonably challenging courses, he/she is a very ambitious kid- Keep up the good work, make sure you stay well-rounded.
If he/she isn't keeping up on schoolwork, that kid needs to drop something to allow for schoolwork.

i was a cheerleader and i got the same kind of crap from people. you just have to prove to them that you are smart and don't give in to the "cheerleader persona"

cheerleaders are pretty shallow, think trends are way too important, are generally pretty rich, and may or may not be stupid. if you want people to think you are smart, you are definitely doing the wrong sport. maybe you could ditch cheerleading and do gymnastics or dance.

i dont think anything bad about them. they are active and sporty and enjoy what they do. yes they do get attantion and in some cases they get bad attention. but to stay a cheerleader you do have to get great grades. so people dont really see that cheerleaders are smart.
