She wants to get her hair cut like a boy and to change her name to a boys name. My mom says no and they always get in an argument about it! I hate IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Limited Too at the mall has really cute younger girls clothes. try jcpenny's or target. there are lots of places with cute girl clothes. or just take her with u. and u can help her find something that looks at little girlier than what she normally wears but still likes.

don't get something that's too obvious. i used to wear things like that all the time but my mom just started buying me things that slowly branched out. now when i look at those old pictures i just cringe; your sister will grow out of it if you help her a little at a time.
maybe take her out for her birthday. get some ice cream and go to some nice stores. i used to only feel comfortable buying clothes at wal-mart because of how out of place i felt at nice stores. it's a yucky feeling and i always wanted to change i just didn't know how. changing someone isn't always bad, often they want to but they can't on their own strength.
so, i would take her someplace nice and get her to try some clothes on that are just a little more girly than what she wears. You say she wears baggy clothes, go someplace and get her baggy clothes that are cute. like american eagle has some really cute baggy capris that are girly. then maybe get a comfortable girly tank to go with it. it's not too out of what she wears but it's more feminine that normal.

but, she might love how she dresses! she's only ten, i started wanting to change when i was eleven or twelve. don't make it an uncomfortable thing, just a new thing. i mean, ice cream, movie, clothes, and maybe a gift card to some place that has nice clothes..... what could be more exciting? lol.

just an idea, i hope i helped some.

I wonder if she is into the punk rocker look, it sounds like it. Hot Topic may have some shirts that she would like that are still girly. If you go buy her a sundress she'll probably never wear it. Maybe you could take her with you to ennsure you dont waste your money, but at the same time you can try to give her input and advice. You know what they say, "Boys will be boys, and girls will be girls." Unless the girls will be boys, but I think it's sick when the boys will be girls.

Try getting her neutral clothes, that girls and boys can wear, like a track suit, I find girls-woman in track suits very sexy. I know she is only 10 but you want her to wear girlie clothes, and girlie clothes usually mean clothes that look good to males. So I can only assume it works on all ages.

don't get her really girly stuff because that look makes ppl looks like sluts.
go something simple, since she dresses like that buy her jeans a a cool t-shirt.she probably will refuse to wear a dress so forget about that...
sporty clothes might due too.
i think the jeans a t-shirt thing will be better though
also make a deal wit her,if she wears something you want her to give her $5-$50

10 years old is when a child experiments with new styles and ideas. my brother is 11 and loves to wear big cloths ( since he is a little big). but i dont think you should buy her cloths. you should take her out to the mall and tell her you will pay for any cloths she wants and see what she picks out. if you want you can ask her if she wants some girly cloths to try. but dont try to change her style. if she likes large cloths, let her enjoy her style. she will change by herself later on.

Gap kids. Beware that she may not wear the girly clothes you buy her. My cousin is a 12 year old tomboy and refuses to dress like a girl! She wont even shave her legs.

Be careful buying clothes for her that YOU think she should wear. If she doesn't like them then you've wasted your money and she didn't get a worthwhile birthday gift. They say "it's the thought that counts" so think about something she would like/enjoy (be it clothing or something else) and have fun helping her celebrate her birthday. *smiles*

How about taking her with you and letting her pick something out. It won't do any good to try to change her taste. She will not wear it anyway. You can give her your opinion and tell her what you think looks nice but in the end, she is going to wear what she likes.

your gonna have to make a slow transition. dont go straight into super girly clothes -- she'll never wear them. choose some clothes that are nice but aren't that girly.
