We never went to gag/prank shops when traveling.
I DO remember being stuffed into a small car with my 2 siblings and fighting.
I enjoyed being together. The driving, the fights, the laughing, the games we'd play, etc....

I would not say gag/prank shops, in general, were high on my list, but there is a place on the Seattle waterfront called Ye Olde Curiosity Shop that was always a favorite of ours. It has the fake barf and dog poo kind of thing, but it also has real mummies and shrunken heads and tons of other things to look at and buy. I have taken my own kids there, and they love it too.

No, what I remember best is the times we drove to Florida and stopped at South of the Border to buy fireworks. After the first time, it because sort of a ritual. We also did this when travelling to Virgina and Ohio, as there always seemed to be a "supersote" along a major highway.
This was always a treat because we lived in PA and at the time all firewords were illegal except the occasional sparkler.

I enjoyed going to the beach, anywhere with rides like the boardwalk or a themepark, and going to zoos. I wasn't much of a gag/prankster, so no, that wasn't even on the list.

I loved when i got to travel either with family where we drove cross country for a month or by myself to go to educational functions. It really opened my eyes to how different, different areas of the US are.
