I feel uncomfortable with any nation having nuclear weapons. If you are refering to general technology, such as power plants, then not necessarily, because there are a lot of countries without democratically elected governments that have nuclear technology. It does not matter who has the technology, its how they use it that is important.

What's the difference whether or not they were elected? That's the least of the problems. For instance, the Netherlands is headed by a queen, you think she was elected?

What does it matter?
Our country has an elected democracy, yet our government kills our own innocent people.

Hell no.....if else how would you justify "liberation wars".
*Construct another "AXIS OF EVIL".
*impose sanctions.
*have humane prisons in south america, secret prisons in eastern europe,.........................,etc.
Democracy or not having weapons is bad(includes knives, sticks, swords, clubs, bad presidents, hardened knuckles....) instead we should teach ourselves to fight with sponges/cakes/what not,
