Look around your area for a talent agency. But beware of the ones that are wanting money up front. A true acting agency will accept you if they feel you are ready for a career in acting and will just take a percent of what you earn from any job that you get through them. Also, a lot of these agency's have a place, either online or in their office, for casting calls that are open. This is another good place to look.

you can attend a local acting school and audition for some plays around your area. Then you can go to an agent and get one like I have who sends you on auditions in New York and I have been on three commercials and a TV show and im 14

To get a local agency, you will have to go to them. They rarely will go to you. Get a resume and headshot together and send it out to your local places. If they are interested, they will contact you. If you are going to be in any shows or anything, let the agent know in your cover letter when & where you will be performing - who knows, if they like your look and your resume, they may come visit you!

I'd suggest going to acting school in hopes of finding contacts (in addition to enhancing your skills). Acting schools are going to have contacts with employers who you wouldn't normally be able to find on your own. Better yet, if you don't want to go through additional training, just see if the acting schools in your area offer job placement for outside actors.

If you go to a public school try plays or go to the local theatre or play house and try out.

Your best bet is looking for an agent yourself.
