Symptoms are usually lower back pain and sometimes there will be burning when going to the bathroom.
Drink cranberry juice or you can use fresh or frozen cranberries for acute infections. The bags of cranberries are 12oz. each .I recommend using 1 bag for 2 days. You do not have to thaw the frozen berries. You can put 1/2 the bag in a blender ,or a juicer or a food processor, then add an apple or an orange or some unsweetened pineapple for a little sweetening and fluid ( very little fruit juice maybe 1c or less), you still might need to add some water, we have generally used it thick like a slush. Drink this through the day. There are also cranberry pills which I don't think personally work as well as drinking it.
You can also drink distilled water about a gallon a day you can squeeze fresh lemons into the water for a little flavor. These will eventually get rid of a bladder or kidney infection.

A UTI is not as serious as a bladder infection, I've had both. A bladder infection can require a doctor. If its just a Urinarie track infection then you can pick up an over the counter drug that will help it. I'm not sure of the name but the drug store person should know. It will turn your urine orange but it works. You know when you have it when it burns when you pee and you feel like you have to go all the time. even after finishing....its so aggravating, its the worst thing ever in my book!! Good luck!

Same symptoms as everyone above has listed...and yes, go to the doctor ASAP.
FYI...Some people are allergic to the Rx the doctor prescribes (myself included...I broke out in hives)...I once had the beginnings of a bladder infection and just drank lots of water, and the symptoms went away within a few hours. I'm not saying that will work for you, but it can't hurt. Still go to the doctor, though.

Urinary frequency, pain or burning on urinating or after urinating can all be signs of an infection. If you are running a fever see a doctor. Drinking lots of cranberry juice can help. By any means you need to drink a lot to flush out the kidneys and the urinary tract and bladder.
Good luck.

Drink cranberry juice or take cranberry tablets. Cranberry cleans out the whole urinary tract. I've used this any time I've gotten a UTI (and this is usually what docs recommend anyway) and it clears it up w/in a matter of days. Sometimes docs will also want to give you an antibiotic, but that is up to each individual doctor. They still tell you to get cranberry juice or tablets.

Pain and burning especially with urination. Drink a lot of fluids such as cranberry juice or beer. There are also some over the counter products that you can buy at the drug store for this such as AZO

painful urination, some blood in urine, itchy burning feeling when urinating or not....try lots of cranberry juice...100% juice, not the 10% juice junk....also drink lots of water to flush out infection....usually a doc. is not needed....but see one if symptoms do not clear up within a week.

You should see a doctor to get rid of the infection with antibiotics.
Signs include abdominal pain, pain when urinating, pain when sitting, discolored urine, and fever.

Cranberry juice is supposed to be a good natural remedy!
However if symptoms persist for more than a couple of days you must see a doctor.
