usually its not the women that causes the man to cheat....sometimes situations change or the relationship changes...or they think that the grass is greener on the other side...but once they find out that their wrong the grass is really dead over there then they want to come back and forget it ever happened...men are very absent minded and women have to keep that in mind

Being taken for granted. The idea that two people are married doesn't mean the work on the relationship is over. It becomes more frustrating when you continue to work hard and your partner stops. Callus comments about sex make it worse. It is complicated by the roles and responsibilities of modern life as well.
When someone new enters your life and you remember what it is like to be recognized, to be special, you find the spark love once was and you take a chance. But the risk is everything, including children, home and all you've worked for. But if you get away with it; it can be an elixir.
The fallacy is men are brutes who want their relationship solely physical. People are people; though different sexes, men and woman are homo sapians and not different species or from different planets.

Usually, it has nothing to do with the girlfriend or wife. It is the man that has the issue(s). Especially with insecurity and weakness. Don't ever blame yourself for others mistakes or betrayals. I have learned that you can have the best look body/face or otherwise and be just as internally beautiful, but if he wants to cheat... then he will. Contributing factors may be that the other woman has a feature he likes, i.e., breast, butt,etc...and he wants to test the waters. Not to be with them, but just simply to sleep with the other woman with no intention on leaving the wife or girlfriend. Regardless of the features of the wife or girlfriend, again it has nothing to do with them.
Men will be men (Unfortunately)!

I think you really have nothing to worry about. For starters, I'm sure he knows that you could see that email so unless he's totally incompetent it is not meant to hurt you in any way. Also, he's mentioned your name in there and it looks like he hopes to have a committed relationship between the two of you. You've already said that you trust him so there shouldn't be an issue there. Truthfully, I think you should talk to him peacefully over the phone the next chance you get. Just discuss with him that you saw the context of the email and it bothered you. Expect him to get a little defensive, but just calmly work it out. I say this because if you two can't resolve something this minor, then you might not want to get married because there will be bigger issues down the road after marriage.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. They cheat for the same reasons that women cheat on men. They are not happy for one reason or another, or someone or something better (or so they think is better) comes along. Most of the time there is nothing you can do about it.

Plain and simply some men are just greedy and some men just don't know how to say No. No matter how great of a wife/girlfriend they have they just have to give into temptations. But on the other hand it could be the wife/girlfriend.

I have had my husband cheat on me. It was 4 months after we got married and he said that it scared him knowing that I would be the only person he would ever sleep with again. But the bad thing is I was the only person he had slept with for 4 years before that. I think that it is just the thought that he may never have another woman again.

4. He meets an old love.
5. His girl is holding out on sex.

in this case it could be two things either the girl is not doing her part or the man needs to feel Young by sleeping around.it kind of like when two people first met there sex life is fantastic but as the relationship gets older so does the sex and most men get bored and go cheat. they may not mean to but you just have to keep them interested.

In most simple terms, either:
1) He has needs that aren't getting met in the relationship (this isn't necessarily sexual needs)
2) He likes the thrill of being with different women
