Ohhh... Tight time frame. What about an afternoon picnic in Memorial Park, or Dinner in one of the private rooms at Carrabba's or if you are looking for a hall rental try Maxximum Plaza on Long Point although they may be booked. Houston is so big I don't know where you are but you can also try: The private rooms at- Pappa's different restaurants or a fun patio party at Joe's Crabshack on the patio. If you want to go downtown how about the Hard Rock and a movie after at the Angelica? Something else that might be fun to do is a dinner Horseback ride at Cypress Trails in Spring. You can take a 2 hr trail ride to a restaurant and back. Good Luck and Happy Birthday!

Your BIGGEST problem is that you've waited until the last minute. It's June. This is 'wedding month'! If you start calling around, you're going to find that most (if not ALL) places have been rented out for over a year. Maybe if you plan for NEXT year and rent a place now, you might have some luck. But I wouldn't get too excited about doing it this year.
