Jim:
#1 The right to privacy. (you mean not to have your phone call to afghanastan monitored during a time of war?)
#2 Freedom from harassment and bigotry. (What do you think affirmative action is? It is bigotry against someone)
#3 decent wages and benefits for blue-collar workers. (Is that a nice way to say control over private business? When you force a McDonalds to pay 50 cents more to their employees, do you not think the price of a burger will go up? Let the market determine the worth of a worker.)

truthseeker, that definition is about 30 years outdated.

dukalink, how is affirmative action equal for all? I do not qualify for a particular job contract because I am not a minority, is that equal?

enzyme, you don't care about babies, but you care about health care. What do you think will happen to the quality of health care when it is socialized? It goes down, just like the quality of our schools has.

david, could you cite a specific example of how conservatives don't want to give someone a fair chance? As I said before, how is putting aside gov't contracts strictly for minorities giving EVERYONE a FAIR chance?

david, so you want freedom and peace. What if someone threatens your freedom, will you throw that away, and hope you can still hold on to peace? Or will you defend that freedom?

I am a registered democrat not a socialist. I am in favor of a balanced budget and less interference into our personal lives. I also favor states rights. In Oregon we passed (voter referendum) legalized assisted suicide and medical marijuana. Both are under attack by a republican led government. These used to be republican and conservative causes. They are not any more. This is why I vote democratic. I used to vote republican. If I thought the libertarian party had a chance I would be a libertarian. The democratic party is the lesser of the two evils. I don't care about saving stem cells, abortion or the evils of gay marriage. I do care about health care, education, and a strong economy that provides jobs with living wages. If the republican party can offer this and stay out of our bedrooms, I'll vote republican.

No we are not "a socialists". (This sight makes my day).
What we American Capitalist Democrats DO stand for is:
#1 The right to privacy. This is basic common sense.
#2 Freedom from harassment and bigotry.
#3 decent wages and benefits for blue-collar workers.
Kind of makes the Republicans sound like a bunch fundamentalist fascists,no?

First, I can't prove a person wrong if they are not going to admit they are wrong.
Democrats stand for equal right for all. Are you implying that Conservatives do not believe in equal rights for all? That giving people an equal opportunity is somehow immoral and socialistic?
Second, give a working definition of socialism to make for a better argument and not just a forum where you can spew your bile and abuse on those you dislike.

Do you actually know what socialism (or liberalism) actually means? Socialists tend to believe in ownership of services and capital by the state. Liberals believe in the state not interfering in private lives. They are completely different ideologies.
(I haven't got time to give more accurate descriptions but the above more or less sums it up)

If you you agree with the definition of liberalism, seen below, then I am a liberal!
Liberalism: A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans and the autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties, government by law with the consent of the governed, and protection from arbitrary authority.
Aren't these the morals our country was founded upon?
If you are a true American Patriot, then you are a liberal, with liberal morals, period.
Sorry Cons, and neo-Cons...

you don't believe in a democratic society? With democratically elected officials? A government of the people, by the people, and for the people? Well, it doesn't surprise me. Bush doesn't believe in it either.
Way to avoid my questions without calling yourself a fascist.

liberals beleive in a fair chance for everybody. not everybody is born with a silver spoon in their mouth. i think republicans don't know the feeling of being broke. liberals also beleove in equlity, freedom, peace, education, social programs, and compassion for all people. how can conservatives argue with these beleifs? shame on the conservatives who attacks these values.

If I did, would you actually listen?
I bet not.
Its not avoidance of your question, its avoidance of your propaganda and insults. Why waste my time when all you are going to do is call me whiny/stupid/ignorance/communist/anti-American? If I didn't know you by your previous questions/comments/answers, I would be glad to explain to you why I feel the way I do. But I'm not going to give you ammunition to just insult me in order to fill the gap of inadequacies that you obviously seem to possess.
