what i'm asking is simple: deep in your heart, and knowing that these are two different kinds of love, who do you have the most intense feelings for?

That's a tough one. It would really depends on how much I loved my boyfriend. If I loved him, and could not imagine being with anyone else, I would choose my boyfriend. Especially if it was a situation that my mother says that she would never speak to me again if I married or had a relationship with my boyfriend. Mothers are supposed to love you unconditionally - no matter what. If she would be able to say 'I'll never speak to you again' that's not unconditional, and my love for her would no longer have to be unconditional.
On the other hand, if I didn't think my boyfriend was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with - blood is thicker than water. Or if it was my boyfriend giving me the ultimatem.... then I would choose my mother.
Unfortunately, situations like this come about too often. Love between parents and children should be unconditional. Always. There should never be conditions on that love. However, love for your significant other is a romantic love - it can only be unconditional over time.

I love my mum but not in the same truly deep way I love my boyfreind, I would say I love them both the same amount but in very different ways, very different!! With my mum its more of a protective family bond but with my boyfreind its a deeper, emotional feeling of being in love. If I had to choose it would be my boyfriend, we work on our relationship as we both know we will be together for the long run. a mothers love should never die no matter how horrible I can be!!!

Huh?
"Mum" as in be quite or mother?
"GF/BF" as in girlfriend/boyfriend?
I mean, I love my mom, but now that I'm an adult, I really like (or I did, until I got married) girlfriends.
But seriously - what are you trying to ask?

my mum, definitely. no one loves you like your mom (at least in my case). But some people have really crappy moms, so they may feel differently.
(also, as you get older, you start to value your parents more than you did in adolescence.)
Beside, my bf could save himself!

Wife. She's the mother of my kid. That's the way it is. Prior to becoming a dad, there's no way I could answer this question - it's a mind bender.
