it looks as if all those who have high blood pressure are on the losing side coz, birth control pills are only for those who do not have hypertentions...

go to the family planning clinic, they might be able to reccomend another type of birth control

This is because there is an increased risk of stroke and heart disease if you have hypertension. The pill also carries a slightly increased risk.
Adding the 2 together increases the risk.
Get your blood pressure controlled. It should be 130/80 or less.
there are other methods of birth control that dont put your health at risk.

I could not take the combined pill because of high blood pressure and I put on too much weight with it. I went on the mini-pill but I have proof in the form of a 1 year old that it is not effective.

Generally, as long as your blood pressure isn't TOO high, you could take the progesterone only mini pill. Ask your doctor if it would be suitable for you.

Both estrogen anf progesterone can raise blood preassure -they are the main ingredients of BC PIlls.

ask your dr about mirena it is a iud type of birthcontrol
