You tell us nothing of what we need to know such as;
Where are you living?(weather conditions)
How long has the problem been going on?
How often do you run the AC?
Any leakage on the system?
My guess right now would be an evaporation problem where gases turn into liquids and don't evaporate, causing weird smell. Mold in the vent tubing etc; Check and inspect what you can and write back. LOL

Is it a sweet smell? Could be a leak in the system and that lovely green coolant. Have you noticed anything leaking under your car?

There must be something lodged either in the A/C that is making it smell bad, or your A/C is intaking the smell from the car engine...

Check to make sure your radiator fluid is full. Your car may need water/fluid, which will make it smell like vinegar if it's low.

IF ANYONE HAS SMOKED IN YOUR CAR IT COULD BE CIGARETTE SMOKE THAT HAS GONE INTO THE VENTALATION SYSTEM AND EVERYTIME YOU TURN ON THE AC OR HEAT THE STALE CIGARETTE SMELL THAT YOU ARE SMELLING. NASTY
