I am trying to research things about movie theater statistics...what people like or dislike about their movie experience when they go out to see a movie.

I would easily wait if the price was reduced. I'm not the movie fanatic that I once was, so that makes it easier. Plus, I've really grown to despise how much is shown during the 'trailer' portion of the experience. Not just in theaters, but on television as well. They have gotten to the point of showing so much of a movie that sometimes I feel like I've already seen the picture BEFORE watching it.

How many weeks do you call "a few"? I've had quite a few movie endings ruined for me, simply because I was waiting a few more weeks for the films to go to more discount theaters. However, money is tight all around for everyone, especially in the gas money it takes to get to a theater. It might be an even trade or even worth the lack of suspense.

Yes I would wait. I buy discount tickets now but you have to wait til the movie has been out 2 weeks before you can use them. We are a family of 4 and the concession stand prices are enough to put someone in debt!

I hate the fact that they rip you off totally with the food i'm not mean but theatre prices are absolutely horrendous and yes I would wait a few weeks to go to see a film if the tickets were half price.

Not really... It depends. If it was something I really wanted to see I would go on the weekend it came out, but if I happened to be on holiday I would go on the Tuesday because it is cheaper, or Wednesay because I can go 2 for 1 with Orange Wednesday! I would hate waiting for weeks because everyone else would have seen it already! Also the last time I decided to wait a while the stupid cinema only showed it for a week! Aargh!

If movies were better, I'd be willing to pay $5 for a ticket. Even for a good movie, $10 seems excessive. I'd pay $10 for something I was dying to see (another Jurassic Park?). And I'd be willing to pay their inflated snack prices if they made the popcorn like they did in the old days--fresh! With REAL BUTTER!!!!

Yes, if I really wanted to see it quickly and on the big screen. But I personally usually wait until I can see it via satellite in the comfort of my own home. Theatres are kept too cold, the seats are uncomfortable, people are annoying, refreshments are ridiculously expensive, and the restrooms are not good.

It would depend on the movie. For example, I usually go to matinee's so that I don't have to pay as much but for movies like Star Wars (all time favorite movies), I was there for the first showing and I payed the extra to be there.

Why to wait and spend the price of even the half ticket, when that would be available totally free to me even without waiting.

Yep. As long as the movie theater is decent in terms of quality of sound and image.
