Prevailing wisdom in the dermatology community is that diet and acne are not related. Of course science is never a 100% reliable enterprise. But at this time, there is no evidence that chocolate, sugar, oil, milk, seafood, or any other food causes acne. Some people absolutely insist that a certain food causes acne for them, or that a specific acne diet works for them. In this case, doctors sometimes recommend that they avoid that food or follow that diet. Regarding chocolate specifically, several studies have been performed, and the answer to "does chocolate cause pimples?" is a resounding "No".

The problem arises when you eat so much chocolate and get it smeared all over your face, and then you don't wash properly and the dirt clogs your pores...
No actually over indulgence is the key here. If you eat too much of anything it will affect your bodies chemistry. When a certain chemical builds up in your body and you cant pass it quick enough or your liver cant filter it quickly enough it must be stored until it is removed... Perfect example is a person with jaundice. There liver isn't functioning properly and the resulting affect is the poison builds up in their blood stream. And can be seen as a orangish brown tone in their skin and eyes. (Extreme example but still true)
Certain people will be affected differently. Chocolate affects me in that way. It may not affect everyone. So eating a normal amount of chocolate will do nothing, but eating 3 boxes of chocolates in one sitting will certainly cause some kind of reaction in your system.
The simplest answers usually hold strong over generations... my Grandmother always said "everything in moderation"... Still holds true today.
Believe me 90% of dermatology is nonsense. The best answer is good clean living and basic soap and water.

Hi, I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acnee problems. According to me Red and white pimpless are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimmples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria. In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

Junk food only causes pimples because of the oil you touch with your fingers and then touch your face. Just wash you face more often, or if that doesn't work see a dermatologist.

No, I don't think that stuff causes acne. Other things, like stress, and inactivity cause acne. Chocolate and junk cause fatness.

Yes, chocolate is extremely bad for the skin. However, drinking loads of water after junk food can eliminate the fats and other toxins that cause acne.
Please rate me the best as I'm so depressed at the moment. Thanks!!!!

Years ago medical professionals thought it did but more recent studies show there is a link between stress and acne. But for females it also is directly linked to your monthly cycle.
