Never underestimate the cleansing power of fire.
Seriously, though, I think if you're trying to avoid the expense of a new sofa, maybe you should consider getting it re-upholstered, or professionally cleaned. As someone prior to me mentioned, steam cleaning might be one viable option for you.
Febreeze and other fabric refreshing products are also useful once the problem area has been cleaned to keep the entire couch smelling user-friendly. =)

RE:
How can I remove human urine smell out of my sofa?
I have a three year old and had an accident on my couch and it smells like pee now, I don't know how to get rid of the smell. She went a little bit not a lot but it still smells.

Baking soda! I have five children and have encountered this a time or two or 100 :) Get the area wet with warm water and sprinkle a good amount o baking soda on it and let baking soda absorb the liquid. Leave it there or a long time a until dry if possible. Once it is dry vacuum the powder up. If the smell remains try using oxy clean with warm water and let it sit for about 15 minutes then absorb with towel and sprinkle again with the baking soda and let it dry and vacuum it up. Best of luck. If this happens again on couch or mattress, immediately sprinkle with the baking soda it works wonders.

This works great - would wash it with a good carpet steamer using vinegar and Awesome(from your local Dollar Store) or carpet upholstery cleaner if you cannot find AWESOME. Next I would sprinkle some baking soda into the couch and rub it in good! then at the end of the day vacuum the couch again.

I'd say shampoo it, and then if that still doesn't work try fabrise. I am sure there are other products out there, but fabrise works damn well on all smells.

Go to your local pet store. They carry a variety of products. There are some for cats and others for dogs. Hopefully one will work good for you.
