This is good question :-)..because we are human :-), if you can answer this question then your question would be answered too :-)...Why we were born to be human ?.........for me....we (all kinds of lives on earth), human or animals are here for reasons not just a natural things. We all have 'ENERGY' the energy that belong to universe, the energy that move all the time, the energy that seek the form, and we chose it differently. I believe that human being is the highest level of energy form on earth that will take us back to universe (out of this Samsara:Transmigration;Wheel of Rebirth)...but it doesn't mean that every human could reach that 'GOAL'='NIRAVANA.....because of the ignorance of life we are driven by lust and desire and let it drive us to the wrong destination : we all want and seek 'Happiness' but we don't know what is the real happiness....so this is why we are driven by lust and desire which these two are not real happiness, it is just an illusion. Why I say it is an illusion, because it is not stay forever....it chargeable :-)...Not many people can ask this sort of question, if you have this question in mind then that's it you are not too much suffer from it.....We are here to learn and growth our souls for the better and stronger...so we won't suffer too much about earth things :-)....so keep think deep and deeper...but be careful not to be too deep until we lost 'balance' :-)

Unlike the view of Darwin and evolution, I think it is because we define ourselves by the material objects that we possess. The thing that bothers me about Darwins sexual selection is that after we make the choice we still can not discipline ourselves in order that others can also properly live. We still desire these material objects after we have made all the children we desire. It's amazing how popular Darwanism has become after we've become the most powerful country in the world on the backs of slaves.

Because we want to make the most out of the time we have. That means different things to different people. Some can't truly make their time what they want because they are responsible to take care of their families and working and making money is the only sure way to give them what they need. Besides, alot of people would do very bad things if they lived like everyday were their last. Not all of us are deep thinkers, or inherantly good.

this is a loopy question. Are you "gay" and attempting to decide why women nevertheless turn you on? in the different case, you're pushed loopy with lust and choose for an similar reason something else individuals are: because you're male, you're immediately, and also you've were given a pulse (except you're really a lady, in which case i will't clarify your difficulty).

Because of our five senses, but mostly our eyes. The eyes of a married man still tends to follow the curvature of a woman's body. And the eyes of a married woman might still follow the fullness of a guy's biceps, etc.
His eyes might follow the fancy car his neighbor has, remembering his model toy car he had when he was a kid. Her eyes might follow the beautiful house she passes by every day, remembering the doll house she used to have,...
Our most important sense, the sight, causes most of these problems. Closing our eyes at outside world will open our inner eyes, but that ability comes with practice and self control, most don't have.

Depending on your perspective, one could say we are animals, and our instincts are irrepressible at the subconscious level. Others may say that our culture creates this need to push ourselves to the top of the social ladder. Still others, will point to sin and temptation as the cause for man's most regrettable mistakes.
The truth is that most everyone agrees those drives you mentioned are humanity's greatest flaws which lead to downfalls on all levels. I believe we are just cursed with it.

Essentially Darwinian theory explains the reason. Evolution of animals (like us) occurs when the organism that is most likely to procreate and thrive, does so. Those that don't thrive and breed, die out, and so do their DNA and genetic traits. Those that live to make future generations usually have a high survival instinct as well as a strong sex drive.
It makes perfect sense. The people most likely to have kids are people with a genetic predisposition to success by having things that allow you to live and to breed.

Lust and deisre are not wrong, what is wrong is for religion and other pressure groups of the kind to create morals that are totally unnatural to make us beleive that we are doing wrong, for the sake of social control.

You don't have to be led by the beautiful desires around you, and you don't have to stay locked in your room either, the trick is learning to respect others for what they have or will accomplish. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
