my dad had all the pains and weight gain that my mom didn't so it wasn't exactly sympathy pains. My husband gained weight and had back pains and some food cravings right along with me, good thing I was craving fruits mostly. I lost 20 lbs in the first 4 months of pregnancy with out son, then I gained 40 in the next 5.5 months. I lost nearly all of the additional 20 I gained by about 6 weeks after delivery, my hubby on the other hand is still working on it slowly. Our son is alomst 20 months now.

Stress levels in the man increase due to hormonal changes and mood swings in the female. Back pain from trying not to squish the baby when on top.

Yes. They also know the emotional changes, but fail to see that women also become more intelligent as they become mothers.

It's very important to share all the changes with your husband so that he can feel like part of the pregnancy and start preparing for fatherhood.

My sister is a midwife, and she has seen plenty of cases where men experience weight gain and pains simmilar to their wives. Some even experience labor pains with their wives.
