Can you get married in a church if you have been divorced after you initially got married in a registry service?

depends on the church, if you are catholic, I know that if the first marriage was not in church. Then you are not considered married in the eyes of the catholic church. You might have to get an annulment through the church. But it is possible

It depends on the reason for the divorce... was there cheating involved? I was divorced and I remarried in a church only because I caught my ex in the act of infidelity. Ask your minister.

I believe so yes... I dont see why not. Just do it right and do not divorce this time. Ask a pastor or minister and see what they have to say about this. I think it comes down to what the reason for divorce was but i am not exactly sure.

Some religions let you, others don't. It is often frowned upon by various religious leader.
Your best bet it to approach the minister in the church where you want to get married and ask for his/her advice.

I believe you can in some churches but the bride will not be able to wear a vail over her face if she has been married before, allegedly

you have to ask the vicar my auntie had that problem and ended up having to go to a different church further away from her home . my mum was not accepted in the church with her commiting adultery so she had to marry in a hotel 30 miles away from home

yes, because in gods eyes you were never married if you got married in a registry office, because according to the bible you have to be married under the eyes of god! so i would say yes it would be fine. :)

i don't think catholic churches allow it...i don't know about the other types
