Log out of everything, and shut down all internet windows, go to control panel, uninstall/remove programs, choose messenger, uninstall it. redownload and reinstall it. This is messing everything up. If you don not have messenger install, uninstall and reinstall internet explorer or whichever program you use.

I am having the same problem. I understand there is a WORM that is affecting yahoo mail users. To learn more go to google.com and do a search for "yahoo mail." But most information I've received says the problem has been solved but obviously it has not been solved since I cannot access yahoo mail either. Obviously, if the answers to your question go to yahoo mail you won't get them.
I just read another answer to this question that suggested going to yahoo mail canada or yahoo mail india and then try signing in as you normally do.... I've not tried it but will try it now,.

Yahoo! Stated that there is an internal system server error which is periodically occuring. This occured from last night actually. I was able to check my mail this morning, but that was after logging in 5 times. One trick you can try is to log into Yahoo! Mail Canada, UK/Ireland, or India (or somewhere that speaks english) to access mail - since they use a networked but seperate server. Let us know if you are having luck. For messenger, give it couple more minutes, or log into Web Messenger @ http://messenger.yahoo.com/.

A lot of people are having this problem. Go to the Canadian Yahoo site and log in there. It worked for me.

Yahoo mail is facing a server problem. But as they say... "where there is a will there is a way", I know the way to sign in.
The trick is....
First you will promise me that you will rate my answer the best.
The trick is click on "mail" written on the same page your looking at.
In the left corner...
It will work.
It worked for me.
