If you want a nice shine to your windows, then when it comes to cleaning them pour a little vinegar in with the water.
The acid will dissolve any soapy grease marks that might be left on the windows otherwise.
The net result of this is that you will get a lovely glean and shine to your windows - perfect!

Steps to cleaning windows:
1. Get window shades, blinds, and curtains out of the way.
2. Dust or brush window frames and sills.
3. Wipe the glass with a damp cloth first to get rid of the worst dirt.
4. Wet a sponge or soft cloth with the vinegar and water or ammonia and water solution.
5. Starting with the top window panes, wash each pane in an up and down motion. Be sure to get into the corners.
6. Rub the glass with a dry, clean cloth.
7. Wash window frames and sills with a damp cloth. Dry them. After the sills are dry, you may want to wax them.

Hire a proffessional to do it but first ask your self if seeing out the window is really worth it. The world can often be a cruel and harsh place. Many bad things can happen. It might be best to just watch TV or hang a large painting up of a beautiful setting that is peaceful and serene.

I use windowlene or any of those window cleaners with very absorbent Kitchen Paper Towel. Then I use one or two to get rid of the dirt and then scrub them hard until the residue of the window cleaner has gone.

Use an old newspaper and try wiping it on your windows. Believe me, it will shine! If not, the windex will do but it will cost you some so try newspapers.

I dont think you want them to shine. You probably want them to be clean and see through.
Windex both sides of them, dont use cheap stuff or it will streak and look horrid. Quality paper towels, or news paper works best too, otherwise you end up with fuzz all over the place.

I use Windex with ammonia. I also use lint free paper-towels. Then I go back over it to make sure they're not any streaks.
