i met DNA at a sci-fi convention about 15 years ago and presented him with my own theory.
we all know the answer is 42 but what is the question?
my theory was that the ultimate question is actually:
what do you get if you multiply six by nine?
i told him my reasons - all the clues that lead me to this theory, he looked at me and smiled, thought a little about it and said, "I had no idea myself until now, that works for me!"
if anybody wants to try to guess what some of the clues I mention are - and there are numerous clues scattered through the books - be my guest!
