Oxygen is a waste product of plants. We breath oxygen and expel carbon dioxide as a waste product. Plants use carbon dioxide the same way we use oxygen.

We all need oxygen...As we all need love..!!! lol In fact, we breathe to provide to the human body all the oxygen which it needs. Then, we breathe to eliminate waste. The carbon dioxide is the waste which is eliminated by our breathing. And it is the surplus of CO2 which gives us the desire for breathing.

Forgive me but I don't speak English a lot!!! It's difficult for me to explain! I hope that what I said has a meaning?!

in order for your body to have energy, it must burn some kind of fuel. to burn fuel, you must have oxygen, oxygen itself doesn't burn, but enables a flammable substance the 'catalyst' in which to burn or 'consume' the fuel available. your body uses glucose (sugar) as fuel, and therefore requires oxygen to be present in order to utilize the energy availble in the suger for your body to function.
