I would pack my wife up in my truck, pack our bags and fishing poles and rifles, and take a road trip around the country until the end. I would make it a point to buy her exotic flowers everyday till I died, and write her a letter every single day. I would take her out to eat, and laugh, smile, make love, and be as comfortable as possible doing all the things I promised her when I proposed.

Camus criticized the clergy because, among other reasons, he felt they focused on another life without giving proper respect to the one they were living at present. The same point can be made if we are selling ourselves today for something better in the future. The question is really if we ever started living this life and what constitutes a good finish to what we started.
To some extent, watching your future is just maturity. On the other hand, I meet people every day who say that they wished they had done something else in their lives. My advice to them, of course, is for them to do it now. Oddly, they invariably come up with an excuse as to why it isn't possible: they say they are too old, or their expenses aren't under control, but it's always some excuse. Did they really want to do this thing or did they just want to dream about doing it?
The nice thing about pondering your impending death is that it provides a great motivation which doesn't seem to be enough in most other cases. Assuming that one's most heartfelt desire isn't to run down Main Street in a pink tutu, it is really the fear of failure that prevents us from trying the things we talk about. If we really want to go to Tibet to find the meaning of life, well, maybe we won't find it, but so what? To have looked for it is what makes your spirit stronger. Heck, maybe the pink tutu thing would be good for that too!
There are differences between fantasies and desires, of course. You can't make fantasies come true even if you are dying: most of the things we desire as goals take a lot of real planning and work to accomplish. Some of them only take a bit of planning and some money. Most people seem to prefer the successful fantasy to the perhaps flawed reality.
The real issue is that we seem to have a thousand different dreams in the modern age and they all end up banging together, competing for our immediate attention. Perhaps you want a family, start one and then, to your surprise, money gets tight and you realize you never went backpacking through Spain; that's just one preference over the other. Dropping one plan to start another is no solution. Some people have great beginnings with their dreams but get tired of them. I suggest that all the great dreams in life, much like all great music, have not only a great beginning, but a middle and an end. Seeing through what you have started in life doesn't sound all that glamorous, but it would seem like a great way to complete one's life.
Lastly, some people have been fiddling around with life waiting for it to bring them something instead of starting on their own. My advice to each of you is to stop waiting for the lottery to come in and start finding something you really want. Stop looking for adulation from others and start looking at what makes you special and start doing that. You may die faster than you think.

I wouldn't change a thing. After holding my mom's hand as she died of cancer, watching my grandma die 6 weeks later, and finding my dad dead of a heart attack just 2 years later,I made up my mind to enjoy and cherish all that life offers. The good and the bad. From the moment we are born we begin to die.So live every day as if it might be your last, treat others always with respect and kindness, and truly live. Peace to all!

Take long bike-rides with my children everyday. Play with them in the rain.
This is sad...I can't say anymore.
