There are two senses of "bad spelling". Mixing up "your" and "you're" and spelling "schedule" as "skedool", for instance, are probably a result of foreigners with poor English skills and the fact that English grammar and spelling aren't taught in school any more (as far as I know).
Using "u" for "you" and "c" for "see" is more lazy than outright wrong and has most likely been spawned by the advent of internet chat rooms and cell-phone text-messaging.

Phonics does not cause bad spelling. I grew up with phonics and I am the best speller I know. Phonics actually helps you learn to spell correctly. Some people misspell (like me) because they can't type for ****. Some people misspell because they can't visualize the word they want. Some people online deliberately shorten words because it's quicker,ie; lol, ppl, ur. I do it myself. Some people don't know English as well and phonetically (not Phonics) spell. Some people do it because it is part of the internet culture, and there is no spell check in chat which is where I have seen most of these errors.

The worst part is the kids who don't learn anything in school. They're one step above illiterate. And they get mad if people can't understand their confusing questions.
A lot of the Internet language is a result of text messaging on a cell phone where characters are limited. It's also popular with gamers as you need both hands to play so you keep the typing to a minimum.
I don't like it on here because it compromises communication. Your question isn't as easy to understand and the answers are never worth reading.
If you have a serious question it should be easy to understand. When people start guessing at what you mean they only confuse the next person to answer.
Losers use spell check? I thought it was the opposite.

I don't think its caused by Phonics, I went to elementary school in the North, they were using hooked on phonics then. I think it is more to do with laziness on the part of the typist.

Yeah I'm going to assume its because of popularity. But this is the case in every sort of social internet phenomena. Personally, I hope the fad passes. I'd rather not grow old with a generation that is defeated by the complexity of two, three and four letter words (i.e "what is," "you," "here," "the").

Actually, people's spelling is much better since they started teaching phonics, I believe.
The spellings that you are referring to are just used in different contexts. We often use different types of language in different contexts. Why not different spelling, too?

It's probable to pay lots of time and money searching for methods to teach your young ones how to learn and boost their reading skills. Is hard to instruct a small child how to read, and also engaging them to see is a challenge in itself. Nonetheless it doesn't need to be like that as you got assistance from the program https://tr.im/etD2y , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you will show your youngster how to split up sounds and separate words into phonemes, an essential issue when your child is just learning how to spell.
The reading program from Children Learning Reading program allows you for kids to read easily and correctly, from simple words to phrases until they learn to learn stories.

There are a lot of people nowadays whom have no idea how to spell things, or they are part of that wonderful group of nincompoops who use 1337, a.k.a. leet speak. Also, they just happen to be too lazy to(or consider themselves above) use(ing) the spell checker.

A lot of foreign people who have poor english skills to begin with are responsible for a lot of it, doens't bother me any, the rest of it has to do with lazy kids who are the ones who come up with all this internet lingo so they don't have to type out full words....that's how we wound up with stuff like lol (laughing out loud).
