I bought a iPod 5G, 60 gig the whole package. And yes, it is a total ripoff. Sure I didn't need the video and picture capabilities, I just needed a music player, and the iPod is not the only one out there. I bought it because it was the best selling mp3 player out there, notice how I said "best selling", I should of done my homework and I might of received a better deal. And to make it worst, you have to pay extra for cables, charger, car adaptability, and stuff that you need, but have to pay extra for. Overall, a laptop could do that same thing as an iPod can, and I thought about it, and should of purchase a laptop and then buy a iPod nano or something.

Ouch Steph. Only 3.70 Euro here, and even that is a total rip off. About six weeks ago they were ranging between 2.70 to 3.25 Euros. So needless to say I went from smoking the daily average and down to 5-7 a day. It's a great incentive to kick the habit. But to make you feel better, the booze is way cheaper where you are. I seen those supermarket adverts on Sky and nearly sh@t meself. You get 3 bottles of premium wine for a tenner. Here if you want any of those advertised then prepare to pay at least 10 Euros each unless you want to drink something which resembles vinegar. But the tourists seem to love the vinegar and keep passing out on the beach. The ambulance heli has been very busy lately and it's not the locals I assure you. So much for recession eh?

"You also get faulty material and lies". ...Welcome to the world of advertising. Is anything built 100% strong any more?

I love the iPod. I use it for music, movies, photos. Plus, you can use it as an external hard drive. So when ever I travel or have a computer job, not only do I have stuff I want to listen to/watch, I have all my software that I want to use to help repair peoples computers. So trust me, using an iPod to prevent me from hauling more than 500+ music CD's and a CD Player, 20+ DVD movies and a DVD player and 1000's+ of photographs is not a total rip off. It's a life saver!

I think iPods are worth it, even though they might be a tiny bit overpriced. All that you really buy them for is music, maybe some videos, maybe for storing a few photos, and for most average people, they don't need to worry about everything else, like the technical stuff.

Only those who can't follow directions.

Most people whom I know that have had problems with their I-pods is because they didn't take the time to read the instructions that came with it.

If you read the instructions first instead of jumping in and tinkering with it, you wouldn't have those problems.
