DREAMS of a world cup victory for England have never been so high for 40 years. But how far can England go in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Well were 3rd favorites with the bookies which is always a good sign, we have the strongest team we’ve had for many years could this finally be the end of our 40 years of hurt. The problems we face is our lack of attackers with Rooney still recovering, Owen now injured and the young, inexperienced Theo Walcott. Only leaves us with the lanky Peter Crouch. With Crouch playing up front, defenders and midfielders alike, tend to loft the ball up pitch in hope Crouch will use his height as an advantage.
No problem in midfield, in-fact Sven is spoiled for choice. With the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and Cole, we’ve got one of the best midfielders in the world cup. All our midfield players can defiantly strike on goal from distance, as seen from Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole already.
With all this at our benefit we have a fair good chance. Except for the amount of injuries that our building up upon the squad. Owen out, and two of our great defenders- Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand- suffering from minor injuries, could affect our ability to play with experience. Now into the final 16 after finishing first in our group we have a huge chance to finally lift that cup again.

Don't think so. With only 3 strikers (one who Sven was perfectly happy to take with him to Germany, but scared shitless of actually playing). Also, if last nights Sweden game is anything to go by we'd be better off without a defence. We have potentially some of the best defenders in the world, but they can't perform when it matters. We may get past Ecuador (or will we) but we won't get any further. On the plus side, Joe Cole has finally become the player everyone predicted he would be a few years back.

If i have predicted correct, england will face Brazil in the semis' the either the Argies or Germans. If we get past Brazil I can see no reason why we cannot win it

I'M SCOTTISH....England will win the World Cup, if english people get positive and send power over to our players, they are all good players,
do we want them to lose? are we all negative just because beckham is human and was ill? shall we all send good thoughts to our players. let them know we are thinking of them, without judging them....be proud that we got to quarter finals be brave and think of them, not ourselves !!! WATCH EM COME BACK WITH THE CUP,

I've got my fingers crossed but i dont think so we always seem to have our good players with injuries at world cup time maybe we need them to stop being accident prone- maybe wrap them in cotton wool before hand

not if they dont step it up. The last few performances are weak at best. Robinson needs to wake up in goal.
