Well... Because the gentleman who is High Priesting the solstice (we take turns) had to teach a class, we are having our solstice on Thursday and we hope the Gods don't mind. I'm not exactly sure what we'll be doing, but I'm sure it'll be wonderful because his Beltane was wonderful! (He did the daytime rite, I did the night rite, and mine was, of course, also wonderful!)
Today is my birthday, and I will be going out for seafood with my mom and my sister.
This weekend we are having a marvelous Midsummer festival out in the woods on some private land. There will be drumming, rituals and workshops and general fellowship. I'm very excited about it.

The summer solstice is today the 21st of June at about 14.30 local time in Sweden and it is here up in the northern part of Sweden impossible to stay awake until the sunset as there will be no sunset the coming month. Anyhow, we do celebrate it in Sweden with dance around the maypole, singing yes but fist of all it is the greatest holiday of the year when friends and families get together. The Danes celebrate St Hans day about the same time.

Well, not sure about Blighty, but here on this side of the pond, the Solstice is today, Wednesday, June 21st, which happens to be my 20th wedding anniversary. So my lovely bride and I will ditch the kids and go to a pub and have a great time, in honor of the Solstice.
But no egg balancing. That's a crock, anyway.

We had an early celebration of the Solstice and held a Midsummer Nights Dream Fairy Ritual, Complete with costumes and wings. It was beautifully done, even though due to circumstances we could not have bonfires we adapted with candles and were able to walk between, charging special small candles for each other to hold for winter to keep the summer with us, and generally giving the god and goddess their due.
Personally I also left the fairies their customary gifts.

I'm in the Southern Hemisphere so I am celebrating the winter solstice. It is freezing cold and so anything to do with fire is a bonus. I'll build a few small bonfires and drink a lot to warm myself up and stop the sun moving North.
I'll try and get my guests and pets to walk through the bonfires' smoke to protect them from evil.

I wore a tank top and let my tattoo show. I peered into the summer sky as I drove from dusk until dark, just to be outside, ya know? I will go to the beach and sink my toes into the sand this evening then come sit in the grass in the town square and listen to the musicians. What did you do?

The solstice is today, right? June 21?
That means this weekend is Antichristmas. June 24: Antichristmas Eve. After that, the darkness will take over.

Today is the Solstice, this morning at 5am I strolled through the morning dew barefooted and washed my face with the dew from the flowers,I thanked the Lord & Lady and listened to the Faeries playing near my pond.

On this day the 21st, I acknowledge Midsummer/Litha, and prepare a fire feast.
Roast everything! The meat, early vegetables, and praise the coming harvest. Party well and acknowledge the cycles, as from this the longest day the cycle declines.
