For physics laboratory, and in order (I think) of importance:
Horse-shoe magnet, electro-magnet (with battery), bar magnet, 12 inch ruler, thermometer, liquid graduate (cylinder), scales (weight) magnifying glass, 6 inch precision (measuring) calipers, propane torch, low voltage transformer, (inexpensive) oscilloscope.

thermometer-used to measure the temperature
beaker- used to hold liquids
graduated cylinder- used to measure volume of liquids

my personal favourite is the capillary electrophoresis machine
used for sequencing and sizing DNA.
